January Birthday's and Aidan's

We celebrated January birthday's today at Jaime's. We all had a great time. Dad turned 70 and Netta was 45 on Wednesday (yes they share the same birthday). What a great 25th birthday present a bouncing baby girl.

Mom turned 71 on the 21st, she was in Charlotte with Mullis. Thanks to Betsy and Sylvia she had a wonderful birthday dinner. Complete with birthday cake and all.
Then there is Aidan Jasper (AJ) is what I think he should be called (there is time for that in another blog). Aidan will be 4 on February 1st. He is quite the little man. Loves Thomas The Train.
We had a good time being with everyone. Jaime had two big sandwich platters with assorted sandwiches. Jim made vegetable soup. I made craw fish bisque. Jaime had three different cakes, all of which were wonderful. Aidan's birthday cake was of course Thomas. She also had a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and a chocolate cake.

"A good time was had by all".

Tornado in Huntsville

We had a tornado in Huntsville, Thursday evening around 5. In this picture you can see the tornado right behind the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Thankfully there were no injuries, but quite a bit of damage in the five points area.

We interrupt this blog for SNOW

Pardon the interruption....but it snowed in Alabama. No school today. Lil Loveday has been outside since 10:30 this morning.

I think she did pretty well since she has no experience in snowman building. I think he is pretty cute.......She is so proud.

Tell me! This girl did not have FUN!!!

Update on the pets

Update on the four legged babies:

This is our pretty Lady. We adopted her from the pound 14 years ago. She has been the best dog ever. She loves to please and all she wants is to be loved. We do love our Lady.

This is our Zoe. Dustin and I found Zoe up on 565. She was in pretty bad shape. Had a broken hip. Two hip surgeries and lots of love later she is queen of the backyard. She is our Zoe girl. She still loves to play and often times would rather play than be loved.
Stay tuned for more.........

9th Birthday - Lil Loveday

In the midst of all the Christmas celebrations Lil Loveday turned 9. Here she is with her new puppy Scout (Little Bit). She is nine and he is about 5 months old.

This was her official birthday. It was a Friday, so we met Mom, Dad and Uncle Jim at Beauregard's for dinner. Lil Loveday's favorite place to eat fried pickles.

This was her birthday party at Sci-Quest. She chose to make "transformbots". They were really neat. They were little jitter bugs, with motors on them. I wished they had of had things like this when I was a kid.

I think all in all she had a good birthday.

Christmas 2009 (Cont'd)

Christmas Eve was spent and Aunt Lavon's and Uncle Bernd's house. We have been spending Christmas Eve as a family as long as I can remember. We used to have Christmas Eve at Nanny's (Dad's mom). She lived next door to us. Now Aunt Lavon has continued this tradition allowing us all to come to her house.

Plenty of cousins that I grew up with and now our kids are playing together. I love it.

We have been trying to do different things with the kids on Christmas Eve. Instead of just them opening presents and being done. This year we played a game like "bingo". It was called "glory".

It made it easy for the little ones to play. It had pictures of Bible stories instead of numbers. We had bags of gifts for the kids to choose from. We had met before and wrapped gifts and put them in age and gender specific bags.

I think the kids really had a good time. We had a really good Christmas.
